Dear Friends,
As a student of systems thinking and complexity, I consider “dialogue” (mind you, not discussion) to be a ‘sacred’ practice, pregnant with immense possibilities for change.
As David Bohm, one of my favourite physicists, who meditated beautifully on the power of human dialogue, writes,
“…And perhaps in dialogue, when we have this very high energy of coherence, it might bring us beyond just being a group that could solve social problems. Possibly it could make a new change in the individual and a change in the relation to the cosmic.”
Creating spaces for dialogue (online and offline) is a large part of my impact thesis at Agribusiness Matters and besides my ABM Townhalls, I am excited to collaborate with diverse organisations to create spaces that foster deep human connection through the forgotten art of dialogue.
Cheers
Venky
0/ Invitation for an Online Dialogue - Dancing with Climate Anxiety
Many of us who are committed to addressing the climate crisis experience intense climate anxiety. Some of us seem to be giving up hope on collective change while working on our individual contexts. Some of us are still battling it out.
How do we navigate climate anxiety without letting it paralyze us?
How do we rewire our brains to work on our meaningful parts without losing sight of the whole? How do we address some of the deeply personal questions underpinning climate anxiety? Should we stop having children?
These are some of the questions we want to collectively explore in a dialogue we've playfully titled "Dancing With Climate Anxiety" in collaboration with The Climate Party and Agribusiness Matters
This dialogue would be anchored by my dear friends Sameer Shisodia, Raghu Ananthanarayanan, Sayesha Dogra and I
This dialogue is an experiment in sharing personal feelings in a safe, non-judgmental space, bringing together climate change solutionists and a behavioural scientist (Raghu) to see how best we can navigate the internal pushes, pulls and double-binds of climate anxiety.
If you are joining us for this dialogue, here are some of the assumptions we are making:
1) You understand the reality & gravity of climate change; and
2) You understand the problem requires deeper introspection, beyond just wearing a solutionist hat.
We call this "Dancing with climate anxiety" because we feel it's extremely important and we can't just deal with it "seriously". We hope to make it playful and deeply meaningful!

01/ Invitation for ABM Members: Enshittification of Agritech: A Dialogue with Feroz Sheikh
After I wrote my article on Enshittification of Agritech, I had an interesting email exchange with Feroz and he shared a few fascinating aspects which led me to invite him to dialogue on this topic in detail.
My current thesis is that with the centrifugal force of enshittification of agritech, there is a centripetal force of deshittification at play when players go back to their old ways.
We will talk about why technology plays out the way it does and what can we do about it.
This dialogue is open for ABM Members and you can become an ABM Member if you would like to join and receive invites for such ABM Townhalls in the future.
