What is Your Political Stance in Food and Agriculture Systems?
Dear Friends,
When you work in agriculture, you instinctively realize that you can never hermetically seal off politics from food and agriculture systems. How do we determine our political stances in food and agriculture systems?
To find out the answer to this question, in our Global Agritech 101 course, Om and I play this 2 x 2 game. We ask the participants a simple question - In which part of the quadrant do you find yourself most attracted? Can you articulate why?
This 2x2 provides a fascinating window into what drives our fundamental perceptions behind the futures we are building in food and agricultural systems. It also quietly maps each individual's political preferences behind the stances we undertake about agriculture.
As we gear up for the fourth cohort of Global Agritech 101 on Saturday, here are four reasons why you shouldn't consider joining the course
Reason #1: Agritech will solve all problems in Agriculture. AI, DPI and the latest technology will solve all problems in Agriculture.
We provide an objective view of the Agritech landscape, including its potential and limitations. If you are going to expect agritech evangelism, then this course is not for you
Reason #2: You don't believe in interdisciplinary approaches.
We strongly argue that agriculture as a sector is ripe for disruption and we need multi-disciplinary approaches to tackle the challenges that we face in this sector
Reason #3: You believe only in one paradigm regarding agriculture.
In the course, we don't just talk about the prevailing paradigm of agriculture. We explore various paradigms that define how we see the problems at hand in a domain like agriculture.
Reason #4: You think that with the advent of technology, geography is history!
In the course, we discuss how different geopolitics trends affect the kind of developments you see in the sector.
