The Final Part in Two-Part series to make sense of the political chaos surrounding the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill.
Nice article. There are bound to be teething issues in any new beginning. Hopefully things will fall in place in the next 4-5 years. Middlemen will also be a part of the ecosystem, maybe with some other name and form. Btw, should it be 39 instead of 38 in point no. 54?
A great article to understand the issue. Until now, i was not aware of the complete role the so-called middle man plays in the whole process. The middle man has always been given the villain role in the film called Indian Agriculture. The solution that i had in mind before this is a big investment into warehouses at the micro level which will give the farmer more control on when s/he wants to sell. Clearly, that alone will not suffice.
No words on thanking for this article. Thank You So Much Venky Ramachandran sir. Nandrigal.
You are welcome. Do write to me your reflections. Heard about your startup recently. venkyr@hey.com

Will write about warehousing and our obsession with cold storage sometime.
